SEO in Bangladesh typically costs BDT 15,000–40,000 a month for a small local business, BDT 40,000–100,000 a month for a growing company targeting national keywords, and BDT 100,000 or more a month for competitive ecommerce or international campaigns. One-off work such as an SEO audit or a technical fix-up usually costs BDT 10,000–60,000, depending on the size of the site.
These are typical market ranges, and they vary a lot between freelancers, small studios and established agencies. Softwix has run SEO campaigns from Dhaka since 2017 for clients in more than 20 countries, so this guide explains what each price level usually buys, what drives the cost up or down, and how to tell a fair package from a cheap one that will cost you more later.
SEO cost in Bangladesh at a glance
| Type of SEO work | Typical price range (BDT) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| One-off SEO audit | 10,000–40,000 (one time) | Finding technical and content problems before you commit to a retainer |
| Basic on-page setup | 10,000–30,000 (one time) | New websites that need titles, meta descriptions, sitemaps and Search Console set up |
| Local SEO (monthly) | 15,000–40,000 per month | Shops, clinics, restaurants and service firms targeting one city or area |
| National SEO (monthly) | 40,000–100,000 per month | Businesses competing for Bangladesh-wide commercial keywords |
| Ecommerce or international SEO (monthly) | 100,000+ per month | Online stores with large catalogues, SaaS and export-focused firms |
| Hourly consulting | 1,500–6,000 per hour | Second opinions, training an in-house team, strategy reviews |
All figures are typical ranges observed in the Bangladesh market in 2026 and vary by provider, scope and competition. Treat them as a budgeting guide, not a quote.
How much does SEO cost in Bangladesh per month?
Most businesses in Bangladesh pay between BDT 15,000 and BDT 100,000 a month for ongoing SEO. Where you land in that range depends mainly on how competitive your keywords are and how much content and link-building work is included.
To check our ranges against the market, we reviewed publicly listed SEO packages from several Dhaka-based providers in October 2026. One agency listed monthly packages from BDT 16,800 (10 keywords) to BDT 168,000 (100 keywords), and stated that an average project falls between roughly BDT 30,000 and BDT 60,000 a month. Another listed local and national packages starting from BDT 25,000 a month. On the classifieds site Bikroy, individual SEO service listings were commonly priced around BDT 15,000.
Entry level: BDT 15,000–40,000 per month
This is where most local businesses start. At this level you can expect a keyword plan for a small set of terms, on-page fixes, Google Business Profile optimisation and a monthly report.
Content and link building are usually light. That is fine if you compete in one area of Dhaka or Chattogram, but it rarely moves the needle for national keywords.
Mid range: BDT 40,000–100,000 per month
This tier suits companies that want to rank across Bangladesh for commercial terms, such as “office furniture in Bangladesh” or “accounting software Bangladesh”. Expect regular content (often two to six articles a month), technical monitoring, outreach for links and more detailed reporting.
This is also where agencies start assigning a dedicated account manager rather than a single freelancer doing everything.
Premium: BDT 100,000+ per month
Large ecommerce stores, SaaS products and businesses selling to the UK, US or EU usually need this level. The work covers hundreds or thousands of pages, international keyword research, a heavier content calendar and digital PR.
At this tier you are paying for senior strategy time and volume of output, not just a longer task list.
What pricing models do SEO providers in Bangladesh use?
There are four common pricing models: monthly retainers, one-off projects, hourly consulting and performance-based deals. Monthly retainers are by far the most common, because SEO is ongoing work rather than a single task.
| Model | How it works | Pros | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | Fixed fee for an agreed scope each month | Predictable cost, steady progress | Vague scopes where you cannot see what was done |
| One-off project | Fixed fee for an audit, migration or setup | Clear deliverable, no long contract | Fixes with no follow-up or monitoring |
| Hourly consulting | You pay for expert time | Good for in-house teams that need direction | Hard to budget for larger projects |
| Performance-based | Payment tied to rankings or traffic | Feels low-risk | Encourages risky shortcuts and cherry-picked keywords |
Be cautious with “pay only when you rank” offers. Providers can hit those targets by choosing obscure keywords nobody searches for, or by using tactics that put your site at risk.
How do Bangladesh SEO prices compare with international rates?
SEO in Bangladesh costs a fraction of what businesses pay in the US, UK or Canada. That price gap is the main reason overseas companies outsource SEO to South Asia.
The Ahrefs SEO pricing survey of 439 SEO providers (last updated in 2024) found that $501–$1,000 a month was the most popular retainer range worldwide, while the average across all respondents was $2,917 a month. The most common hourly rate was $75–$100, and 79.1% of US and Canadian providers charged $1,001 or more a month.
The same survey has no Bangladesh-specific data, but it found that 76% of providers in India charged $1,000 a month or less. Bangladesh pricing sits in a similar band. At an exchange rate of about BDT 123 to the US dollar (early October 2026), a BDT 40,000 retainer is roughly $325 a month.
A lower price does not have to mean lower quality. Salaries and office costs are lower in Dhaka, so a well-run local agency can offer senior work at rates that would buy only a few hours from a London or New York consultancy.
What affects the price of an SEO package?
The biggest cost drivers are keyword competition, website size, the amount of content needed and the state of your site’s technical health. A quote that ignores these is a sign the provider has not looked closely at your business.
- Keyword competition. Ranking for “restaurant in Gulshan” takes far less work than ranking for “online shopping Bangladesh”, where large marketplaces dominate.
- Target market. Local, national and international SEO need different levels of research, content and links.
- Website size. A 10-page service site and a 5,000-product WooCommerce store need very different amounts of technical and on-page work.
- Technical debt. Slow hosting, broken redirects, duplicate pages or a poor site structure all add hours before any growth work can begin.
- Content volume. Well-researched articles take time. If the package includes writing, the number and length of articles has a direct effect on price.
- Link building approach. Earning links through outreach, digital PR and useful content is slow, skilled work. Cheap packages often skip it or replace it with risky link buying.
- Languages. Bangla and English content for the same site roughly doubles the keyword research and writing effort.
- Reporting and access. Dedicated account managers, weekly calls and custom dashboards all add cost.
What should a monthly SEO package include?
A fair monthly SEO package should include technical checks, on-page work, content, link acquisition and clear reporting. If you cannot see what was done each month, you cannot judge whether the money is well spent.
Use this checklist when you compare proposals:
- An initial audit covering crawlability, indexing, speed, mobile usability and existing content.
- Keyword research tied to pages that sell, not just high-volume terms.
- On-page optimisation of titles, headings, internal links and structured data.
- Technical fixes or clear instructions for your developer.
- Content planned around what your customers search for.
- Link acquisition using methods the provider is willing to explain.
- Local SEO such as Google Business Profile optimisation, if you serve a physical area.
- Google Search Console and Analytics setup, owned by you, not the agency.
- A monthly report showing work completed, rankings, traffic and leads or sales.

Is cheap SEO worth it?
Cheap SEO is rarely worth it if “cheap” means the provider cannot explain what they will do. The real cost of bad SEO is not the monthly fee, but the time and money spent cleaning up afterwards.
Google’s own guide, Do you need an SEO? (updated June 2026), is blunt: “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.” It also warns against SEOs who claim a “special relationship” with Google, who will not explain their methods, or who contact you out of the blue.
Red flags in a low-cost SEO offer
- Guaranteed first-page or number-one rankings.
- Hundreds of backlinks for a fixed small fee.
- No access to Search Console, Analytics or a list of changes made to your site.
- Reports that show rankings for keywords nobody searches for.
- Long lock-in contracts with no clear deliverables.
The backlink offers matter most. Google’s spam policies (updated August 2026) list “buying or selling links for ranking purposes” as link spam, which can lead to lower rankings or removal from search results.
How should you budget for SEO in 2026?
Budget for at least six months of steady work and judge results by leads and sales, not just rankings. SEO compounds slowly, so a modest budget you can sustain beats a large budget you cancel after two months.
- Start with an audit. It tells you whether you need technical fixes first, which changes how the rest of the budget should be spent.
- Pick a realistic target market. Win your city or niche before chasing national head terms.
- Work out what a customer is worth. If one new client is worth BDT 50,000 to you, a BDT 30,000 retainer that brings in one extra client a month pays for itself.
- Keep content in the plan. Pages that answer real customer questions are what rank, and they are also what AI search tools quote.
- Agree reporting up front. Ask which metrics will be reported monthly and how they link to revenue.
- Review every quarter. Shift budget towards the pages and keywords that are producing enquiries.

Frequently asked questions
What is the average cost of SEO in Bangladesh?
Most small and medium businesses in Bangladesh pay between BDT 15,000 and BDT 100,000 a month for ongoing SEO. Local campaigns sit at the lower end, while national and ecommerce campaigns sit higher. These are typical market ranges and vary by provider and scope.
Is SEO cheaper in Bangladesh than in the UK or US?
Yes, usually by a wide margin. The Ahrefs pricing survey found that most US and Canadian providers charge $1,001 or more a month, while a solid Bangladesh retainer often costs a few hundred dollars. Lower living and office costs, rather than lower skill, explain most of the difference.
How much does a one-time SEO audit cost in Bangladesh?
A one-off audit typically costs between BDT 10,000 and BDT 40,000, depending on how many pages your site has and how deep the review goes. Large ecommerce sites can cost more. Some agencies, including Softwix, offer a free initial audit to show the main issues before you commit to paid work.
Can I pay for SEO only when my site ranks?
Some providers offer performance-based pricing, but it carries risks. Providers may target easy, low-value keywords or use shortcuts that break Google’s spam policies. A fixed retainer with clear deliverables and transparent reporting is usually safer.
How long before SEO spending shows results?
Most sites see early movement within three to six months, with stronger results building over six to twelve months. Timelines depend on competition, your site’s starting point and how much work goes in each month. Be wary of anyone promising guaranteed results in weeks.
